What Will You Stamp? #113 – Fairy Celebration (#wwys113)

Welcome to this week’s post for the What Will You Stamp? #113 (#wwys113) – Fairy Celebration. This set is just devine and makes me believe in all magical creatures and wishes!

I don’t own the Fairy Celebration stamp set, but a very kind team member of mine lent hers to me so I could participate today, and now I’m addicted to it! It is just so sweet. My favourite stamp is the fairy with her back facing you with her gorgeous wings. So pretty!

From the very beginning when I saw we were creating with this stamp set, I knew I wanted to do something 3D or “off the page”… I didn’t want to create a standard card. I’ve got lots of “bits and bobs” in my craft cupboard that need using and thankfully I was able to use one for today’s project.

Frames are a great addition to your craft collection as you can use them for so many different projects. I love that you can personalise a frame to make it an extra special gift. Today’s project isn’t personalised (yet!) but I love the simplicity of this project.

This project didn’t take very long to create at all! I stamped the images on to the Shimmery White Cardstock using Basic Black Archival Ink and then coloured it in using an Aqua Painter and the fantastic Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils. I’m no expert at colouring, however I find these pencils SO easy to use to get shading and dimension on your projects. The sentiment in the frame says “May your wisish come true”. I had some trouble photographing the frame as I kept getting my reflection in the glass which I’m sure you don’t want to see!

I love my presents and cards to match, so I whipped up a tiny little card that could be use as a gift tag or gift card for when my frame finds a new home. I used a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock (5″ long x 2.5″ wide), and scored it in half and there was my card base.

In the spirit of the fairies today, if you have this stamp set in your collection, I’m going to make a “wish” for you to go and create a project for this week’s challenge and pop it up over on the What Will You Stamp? challenge blog. If you’d like some inspiration for your project, be sure to check out all the design team’s creations on the blog.

Happy Crafting,

WWYS #103 – Moon Baby

I am so excited (more than normal) to write this blog post. As the winner of the WWYS #100 challenge, I get to be a guest designer for this week’s What Will You Stamp Challenge #103 (#WWYS103) using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Moon Baby stamp set. This stamp set is just so so so cute don’t you think?

When I found out Moon Baby was the selected stamp set for my time as the WWYS Guest Designer, I instantly had an idea for a card. I was a bit daunted by the colouring aspect of the stamps, however the new Stampin’ Up! Watercolour pencils make it soooooooooooo easy (and quick!) to colour in the stamps.

I used the layered circle framelits to cut the circle in the card front and then adhered the moon using some baker’s twine and snail tape.

The babies in this set are just the cutest. Look how sweet this one is resting on the moon… I believe she is dreaming sweet dreams and about all the wonderful things that happened in her day. She just looks so calm and peaceful. Holding on so tight to that star makes me believe she is wishing upon a star.

I stamped the “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star…” sentiment for the front of the card and then on the inside I stamped the sentiment “do you know how loved you are”?

I used the melon mambo watercolour pencil for the jumpsuit, daffodil delight for the moon and star and then a light coverage of calypso coral for the skin and hair.

I love an interactive card and once I started creating with this stamp set, I didn’t want to stop! So, I made another card! This time I used the Sliding Star Framelit Dies to make my card interactive and have the baby “fall” down my card like he was in a shower of stars.

My colouring on the stars was not precise at all. I simply drew a little yellow circle in the middle of each star using the Daffodil Delight watercolour pencil and then using an aqua painter, circled over the colour dot so the colour spread. I wanted the stars to look subtle and have an “aura” about them.

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to join the very talented team over at What Will You Stamp? Be sure to pop on over and check out their creations for this challenge; all their cards are adorable.

Happy Crafting,
