What Will You Stamp? #161 Bird Banter

The Design Team and I are back today and we’ve had some fun with the cute #birdbanter stamp set for #wwys161. I hadn’t had a chance to use this set yet but I had seen loads of projects with it, so I was excited to get it a go!

I had made a simple three colour card today but I got to use my STAMPARATUS!!! Yes, I finally cracked it out of the box (it has been neglected for about 2 months now!) and I have to say it was once of the easiest stamp placement tools I have ever used. I LOVED that you can move the plates around without having to move the stamp. Don’t know what a Stamparatus is? Check it out here.

I used the Stamparatus, to place my little birds, one on top of the other for my card. It was so quick and easy! I even remembered to stamp one on the inside of my card!

I used the new Stampin’ Blends to colour my birdies in; a little bit of Pool Party for the head & body and a cute daffodil delight beak! The Stampin’ Blends have been SO popular they are no unable to be ordered as we (yes, you too!) have depleted the stock levels! At this stage, to keep my with demand, the Blendswill be back in stock around May 2018.

I love that this card is a great one for my “male” stash. I always seem to never have those on hand when I need them!

Hopefully you’ve got this stamp set in your collection and can join us this week for our #wwys161 challenge! Create your card and upload it to the WWYS blog. We love seeing what you create.

What Will You Stamp? #156 – Magical Day

I’m so excited to be back this week for #wwys156 as we are using one of my favourite stamp sets out of the new Occasions Catalogue – Magical Day! I think I screamed out loud when I saw this product suite back in November at our On Stage event.

Even though I love this suite so so so much, I hadn’t actually used it until this week’s challenge came along! Thankfully I had a team craft day on Saturday to help me get the mojo going and give me some valuable craft time.

I chose to feature the gorgeous, fun spirited unicorn from the suite for my card today. I decided to keep my card in one colour scheme for some reason…. not sure why, but I love how it turned out.

I coloured my unicorn in using the light & dark Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I added a little bit of wink of stella to her mane and tail to give her some “pizzaz”.

I combined her with the clouds and rainbows from the new Rainbow Builder framelits. These are just so cool!!! Luckily, there was the super cute cloud designer series paper in the Myths & Magic suite to match!

I haven’t placed a sentiment on my card yet… as I don’t know what I want to use it for!!!

The Magical Day stamp set has been hugely popular (actually more than I imagined)… so if you don’t have it, you should really get it! And if you have it already.. get creating and join in our #wwys156 challenge this week! I’d love to see what you create. I try and pop by on a Sunday night (EST) and check out all the challenge entries and make a comment… so if you create, I’ll comment.

What Will You Stamp? #155 – Picture Perfect Birthday

WOAH! I just realised that it has been a little while since I played along with my design team buddies at What Will You Stamp but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to use the new Picture Perfect stamp set for #wwys155. I’m just not sure where the time is going and how we are in mid February already!

I had a lot of fun making the card for today’s challenge for a few reasons. Not only do I love the effect of the white heat embossing on the black cardstock, I do love how quick it was for such an awesome result! Plus, it has a great range of sentiments and greetings for your birthday cards and the font is pretty cool too!

To fill some space between the greetings and to break up the words, I used the striped and the spotted “candle stalks”. I did manage to squish a flame onto the spotted one.

To create the effect so that I could stamp the sentiments in one go, I used the clear (E) block and arranged the photopolymer stamps on it. I managed to fit 8 of the stamps on it. I stamped the grouped images twice on my card using Versamark ink and then covered in white embossing powder.

I’m definitely going to make more of these… and speaking of that, if you have this stamp set in your collection, I would love you to play along with this week’s challenge over at What Will You Stamp? Would love to see what you create!

Just Add Ink #393 – Colour Challenge

To keep my mojo flowing… or starting to flow, I played along with the colour challenge over at Just Add Ink for #jai393. I was so pleased to have the time to create as one of my downlines, Rochelle was the DT member who chose the colours for this week’s challenge.

Green is one of my favourite colours however I find Tranquil Tide a little tricky to work with whereas I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lemon Lime Twist.

I’m a little behind in January Birthday cards, so I thought this challenge was a good one to use the super cute Quirky Critters stamp set again. The sloth stamp is perfect for those times you’ve forgot to send a card! I needed to create a “leafy” scene for my sloth, so I used the fern leaf from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, stamped in Tranquil Tide & Lemon Lime Twist.

I used the new Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to colour in Mr. Sloth. I used the light & dark crumb cake and then smoky slate for his eye area. I snuck the bronze marker in to colour the branch. These markers are so easy to use! The branch in the stamp set is a little shorter, so I lengthened to reach within the leaves by drawing an “extension” with a black fine point marker. EASY!

If you’ve got time, head on over to Just Add Ink and see what their design team created to inspire us this challenge. Challenges are a great way to create when you’ve got a creative block, need a new inspiration or idea… or just for fun!

Have a wonderful, creative week.

What Will You Stamp? #143 – Text Ya Later

Ask most people who know me and they’ll tell you that yes, yes I do spend A LOT of time texting. I have been known to type complete messages without even looking! My excuse is the keyboard is the same as a computer and I spend a lot of time on a computer for work (and have done for most of my life!)

It was fun to create today’s card for #wwys143 using the Text Ya Later stamp.

I loved using the symbols and text that you use when sending a text message on a card and I love the colour combination I have used for my first card as well. It was Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist & Pool Party. Give it a try!!! You won’t regret it.

I think tone on tone stamping is really effective on any card. I use it a lot with the neutral colour Crumb Cake and it makes a quick and effective background for any card. For this card however, I used Berry Burst. Lemon Lime Twist has quickly become my favourite new colour… here it is close up!

I was having so much fun with this stamp set, that I thought I’d make another card for the challenge today. This time I thought outside the box a little bit! For some reason, the outline of the phone made me think of an oven! I love cupcakes as much I love texting! 🙂

I used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set to create my delicious cupcake. To get the effect of the oven door, cut out the inside of the “phone screen” and adhered a piece of vellum cardstock on the underside of the screen. I used a slim piece of silver foil paper to create the “shelf” in the over. A quick stamp using the Labeller Alphabet stamp to say “BAKE” and my oven was underway. I used the gorgeous Berry Burst colour again combined with Basic Black and Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by today to share in this weeks’ What Will You Stamp? challenge. I hope you’ve enjoyed the Design Team’s challenge. It is such a fun stamp set to use. If you’ve got this in your stash or can get your hands on it (once you’ve finished texting), then please join in our challenge. We’d love to see what you create!

Happiest of Days Gift Pack

Today’s project was something I made for a gorgeous friend of mine to say “thank you”. I have lots of friends who don’t stamp or craft, but still very much appreciate what I do, so to say thank you for a gift she gave me, I made her a little gift too using the Happiest of Day stamp sets.

I love the simplicity of this card. I stamped the rose on shimmery white cardstock and then coloured with my stamp pads and an aqua painter. Once it was dry, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some additional shimmer to the rose petals. I loved this design so much, I made 2 other versions of the card.

Apologies for the not so great photography; I took the photos at 5am in the morning on my rush out the door to work!

Again, the simple image stamped in Basic Black with a smidgen of watercoloring, makes these cards clean, crisp and simple, yet pretty.

To ensure my cards had the real “gift” feel,  I used one of the new acetate card boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue to package them up. Since my cards were “note card size” there is a little extra room in the box. It fits a standard size (14.5cm x 10.5cm card) and matching envelope.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today!

What Will You Stamp? #130 – Mixed Drinks

I’m excited to show you one of my favourite stamp sets in the 2017 – 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue for What Will You Stamp? this week (#wwys130). This week we’re showcasing the very cool, the very fruity and the very refreshing “Mixed Drinks” stamp set.

This stamp set is so versatile that I chose to create three different cards today using the same layout, but with different stamps from the set. Today I’m showing how you can use this set for many different occasion in your life.

The first card was created to celebrate an achievement; I used the champagne flutes and the “cheers” and “clink” sentiment stamps to create the backgound.

The second card is my favourite! A little bit of tutti fruity as a “just because” card. The cherry and the the fruit slice were used to stamp the background. I stamped “tone on tone” for all the background images.

With Father’s Day in Australia just around the corner, the beer glass was the perfect stamp to create a card for that special man in your life. I used the ice cubes for the background images and stamped the “beer” in Crushed Curry ink.

I added some wink of stella pen to each card to give them a bit of a shimmer and a few rhinestones for some “bling”. I love that I was able to create 3 different cards using the same layout. So quick and easy!

I hope that toady’s creations over at What Will You Stamp? have inspired you to get creating with this refreshing, fun set. Be sure to pop your creation up over on the WWYS blog.

We’ll be back next week with another favourite stamp set of mine! Can’t wait to show you.
