What Will You Stamp? #143 – Text Ya Later

Ask most people who know me and they’ll tell you that yes, yes I do spend A LOT of time texting. I have been known to type complete messages without even looking! My excuse is the keyboard is the same as a computer and I spend a lot of time on a computer for work (and have done for most of my life!)

It was fun to create today’s card for #wwys143 using the Text Ya Later stamp.

I loved using the symbols and text that you use when sending a text message on a card and I love the colour combination I have used for my first card as well. It was Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist & Pool Party. Give it a try!!! You won’t regret it.

I think tone on tone stamping is really effective on any card. I use it a lot with the neutral colour Crumb Cake and it makes a quick and effective background for any card. For this card however, I used Berry Burst. Lemon Lime Twist has quickly become my favourite new colour… here it is close up!

I was having so much fun with this stamp set, that I thought I’d make another card for the challenge today. This time I thought outside the box a little bit! For some reason, the outline of the phone made me think of an oven! I love cupcakes as much I love texting! 🙂

I used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set to create my delicious cupcake. To get the effect of the oven door, cut out the inside of the “phone screen” and adhered a piece of vellum cardstock on the underside of the screen. I used a slim piece of silver foil paper to create the “shelf” in the over. A quick stamp using the Labeller Alphabet stamp to say “BAKE” and my oven was underway. I used the gorgeous Berry Burst colour again combined with Basic Black and Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by today to share in this weeks’ What Will You Stamp? challenge. I hope you’ve enjoyed the Design Team’s challenge. It is such a fun stamp set to use. If you’ve got this in your stash or can get your hands on it (once you’ve finished texting), then please join in our challenge. We’d love to see what you create!

Happiest of Days Gift Pack

Today’s project was something I made for a gorgeous friend of mine to say “thank you”. I have lots of friends who don’t stamp or craft, but still very much appreciate what I do, so to say thank you for a gift she gave me, I made her a little gift too using the Happiest of Day stamp sets.

I love the simplicity of this card. I stamped the rose on shimmery white cardstock and then coloured with my stamp pads and an aqua painter. Once it was dry, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some additional shimmer to the rose petals. I loved this design so much, I made 2 other versions of the card.

Apologies for the not so great photography; I took the photos at 5am in the morning on my rush out the door to work!

Again, the simple image stamped in Basic Black with a smidgen of watercoloring, makes these cards clean, crisp and simple, yet pretty.

To ensure my cards had the real “gift” feel,  I used one of the new acetate card boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue to package them up. Since my cards were “note card size” there is a little extra room in the box. It fits a standard size (14.5cm x 10.5cm card) and matching envelope.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today!

What Will You Stamp? #130 – Mixed Drinks

I’m excited to show you one of my favourite stamp sets in the 2017 – 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue for What Will You Stamp? this week (#wwys130). This week we’re showcasing the very cool, the very fruity and the very refreshing “Mixed Drinks” stamp set.

This stamp set is so versatile that I chose to create three different cards today using the same layout, but with different stamps from the set. Today I’m showing how you can use this set for many different occasion in your life.

The first card was created to celebrate an achievement; I used the champagne flutes and the “cheers” and “clink” sentiment stamps to create the backgound.

The second card is my favourite! A little bit of tutti fruity as a “just because” card. The cherry and the the fruit slice were used to stamp the background. I stamped “tone on tone” for all the background images.

With Father’s Day in Australia just around the corner, the beer glass was the perfect stamp to create a card for that special man in your life. I used the ice cubes for the background images and stamped the “beer” in Crushed Curry ink.

I added some wink of stella pen to each card to give them a bit of a shimmer and a few rhinestones for some “bling”. I love that I was able to create 3 different cards using the same layout. So quick and easy!

I hope that toady’s creations over at What Will You Stamp? have inspired you to get creating with this refreshing, fun set. Be sure to pop your creation up over on the WWYS blog.

We’ll be back next week with another favourite stamp set of mine! Can’t wait to show you.

Team Colour Challenge

Every fortnight I provide my team with a challenge to get their mojo flowing… all team members are welcome to join in and a random winner is chosen from the entries to win a Stampin’ Up! prize. One fortnight a month is a sketch challenge and the other is a colour challenge. In the past, I haven’t “played along” with the challenges because I’m normally posting about them at the last minute… but I’m trying to be more organised and I’m excited by today’s post as it is my first card in a team challenge.

This fortnight is a colour challenge, inspired by the fun my boys have jumping in puddles during the winter months.

Also part of my organisational plan is to create ONE card for more than one purpose. For example, today’s card will be used as my example for the above challenge, but it was also used as a birthday card for one of Master INK’s friends.

I tried desperately to include all six colours from the challenge but when it came to the crunch, I didn’t have any Wisteria Wonder cardstock for an extra banner on the card and I thought stamping purple on the card might make it lose its male tone.

I’m obsessed with the Stitched Shape framelits and have used 2 of the larger circles in Real Red and Night of Navy on my card. I’ve then used the Labeller Alphabet stamp set (again!) to personalise the card for the birthday boy!

Would LOVE it if you would play along with our colour challenge. It is a great masculine colour theme and with Father’s Day just around the corner, it might be just what you need to get your mojo going.

What Will You Stamp? #127 – Coffee Cafe

It is a chilly Monday night here in Melbourne, so what better way to warm up than by checking out the Design Team projects over at What Will You Stamp? for challenge #wwys127 – Coffee Cafe.

Now, I’m not a lover of coffee so I wanted to find a different way to use the stamp set and that is how my chocolate thick shake card was born.

The background of my card is covered in celebratory sentiments heat embossed in white (on white cardstock). I then used a sponge dauber and Pool Party ink to do the emboss resist technique and add some colour to my card. The great thing about this technique is you can make the card as light or dark in colour as you please.

I sponged the “cup” of the thick shake with a sponge dauber and crumb cake ink to add some colour. I lightly inked the dauber and sponged in a circular motion to transfer the ink. This card is for a very special 11-year-old girl so I added some “bling” with Dazzling Detail glimmer paper as “cream” and then popped a lid on my cup using vellum.

The birthday girl and I share a love of Chocolate Thickshakes even to the point where on occasions she has “critiqued” my making of them to allow for improvements, so hence the personalised sentiment on the card.

And what is a thickshake without a sweet treat to eat with it? A quick little gift tag to be attached to her presents.

The Coffee Cafe suite of products has been hugely popular for Stampin’ Up! so be sure to head on over to the What Will You Stamp? challenge blog to see what other members of the Design Team created to showcase this suite of products. THEN… if you have this set in your collection, get stamping and enter our weekly challenge!

Global Design Project #097

Yep, I’m having one of those weeks where I’m being super productive so am back today with another challenge entry. This time I’m having some fun with a colour challenge (#GDP097) over at the Global Design Project. This week they’re challenging us with this cool colour combination:

How delicious does it look? And speaking of delicious, all the colours today are named after foods! Cake, Berries & Wasabi. Yum, Yum, Blah! Wild Wasabi is not my “go to” green for projects but I really think it complements the Berry Burst colour in this combination.

For my project today I focused on using Berry Burst and Wild Wasabi for the card and used a Crumb Cake card base to include all 3 colours in my project. I had some fun making a cute shaker card for this week’s challenge.

I love polka dots and spots so focused my card on using them on the outside and on the inside of the shaker.

I threaded some silver sequins off the Silver Mini Sequin Trim to add a bit of bling to the card… then added them on some of the polka dots on the outside of the shaker to make it sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you’ve got time, why not pop on over and the the Global Design Project challenge yourself! Or if you can’t create for this one, be sure to pop back early next week to see what their next challenge is.

What Will You Stamp? #125 – Cool Treats

Finally I get a chance to play along with the What Will You Stamp? challenge (#wwys125) for this week. I’m a week late due to a house full of germs but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to play with the Cool Treats stamp set as it is one of my favourites. Over on the WWYS? blog, you can see all fantastic creations by the Design Team to get you inspired when using this set.

This stamp set makes me think of bright, tutti fruity colours and flavours when I look at it, so I chose to use Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach for my card today.

I chose to do some tone on tone stamping today (where you stamp the same coloured ink onto the same coloured cardstock) for the backgrounds of the card. These two colours are a match made in heaven!

I used a little bit of the gorgeous Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to hide the join of the two pieces of cardstock and to add a little bit of bling. I used the Layering Square Framelits to cut the cardstock and then stamped the sentiment and icy poles on the insert so they peek through the square.

A super quick post from me considering I’m miles behind when the challenge actually went live! I hope you pop on over to the What Will You Stamp? blog and to see the DT creations and the awesome creations of those that have entered the challenge.
