As this blog post goes live, I’m excited to be spending the day hanging out with some friends for some much needed therapeutic crafty time. It’s been a big few weeks in all aspects of life so I’m glad for a little bit of time to catch up and craft for fun! And this what today’s card is… FUN!
This card was another addition to the June Technique Class and June Stamp Club using some of the new in-colour inks as well as the gorgeous new DSP, Naturally Eclectic. I wasn’t drawn to this DSP immediately, but it is absolutely stunning in person! I’ve combined with with the stamp set Watercolour Wings which has been around for a catalogue or two.
There were two versions of this card; one using the new Lemon Lime Twist & Emerald Envy colours and then another using the new Fresh Fig and Berry Blast colours.
The card is very simple on the outside using one butterfly and a simple white circle from the Stitched Shape Framelits, however that is because when you open it, that is when the magic happens!
How stunning is that! What a beautiful surprise for the recipient when they open the card. You won’t believe how easy it is! Check out Lyssa from Song Of My Heart to see how easy this is for you to re-create at home. The best thing is, it is possible with loads of different images, not just butterflies. I do love it on the white insert… however with the lime card, I stuck down the butterflies before I realised I’d forgotten to put an insert in my card! Never mind, the recipient will know, no different. 😛
If you’ve got Watercolour Wings in your stamp collection, grab it out and get creating! You won’t be disappointed when you make this card!
