What Will You Stamp? #115 – Beautiful You

Hi There! This week over at What Will You Stamp?, we’ve been challenged to use the very popular the “Beautiful You” stamp set. If you’re a Stampin’ Up! fan, I have no doubt you have seen many creations made with this stamp set throughout your googling or Pinterest looking ventures. There have been so many wonderful creations with the stamp set, I didn’t quite know where to start or what to create.

For some reason, the lady with the umbrella was the stamp in the set that caught my attention. Initially she made me feel like she was “sad” however, I also wanted to show how versatile stamps could be and used her to create a card and “shower her in love” (you’ll see what I mean shortly!).

I created 3 cards for today’s challenge to show you different ways you can use the same stamp. The cards have the same layouts, I’ve just created them in different colours and with different accompanying stamps to create a different tone or theme to the cards.

I love the simplicity of these cards. I did try colouring the lady in, but I found I much preferred her in plain black with the colour focus being on the theme of the card.

A quick post from me today for #wwys115; if you own the Beautiful You stamp set, why don’t you stop by the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created and participate in this week’s challenge yourself. We love to be inspired by you and your creations.

Thanks for stopping by today… I hope you like the cards I’ve created today… would love to hear if the rain, sunshine or heart one is your favourite.

Happy Crafting,

Hooray, it’s your day!

Initially, I made today’s card at the start of the year to use for INKreations Birthday Club members. However, I got side tracked and never posted it to my blog! But today is another day to say “Hooray” because it is the first day of the pre-order period for demonstrators around the world to order from the new 2017 – 2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue! That is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, is you get early access to the products before they are available to the general public!

Today’s card is using the Layered Letters stamp set and I chose to use the circle stamp in the set. My colour inspiration came from the 2016 – 2018 In-Colour Collection.

To give the card a softer look, I stamped the circle “off” first on my grid paper then on my card. This technique takes off the “top layer” of ink you could say, so there is less ink to stamp on to the card. You’ll see what I mean below (it did make quite a cool pattern on my grid paper!)

I love the final card as much as I love the pattern on the grid paper!

.

I heat embossed the “hooray” stamp from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in white over the top of the circles to give it a subtle look as to not over power the background pattern. I love how the circles look like a piece of designer series paper… well it can be, I just created it myself!

If you’re a member of the INKreations Birthday Club member, keep an eye out in your letterbox around your birthday… this one just might appear. If you’re not a member of this fantastic club, but would like to be, let me know your name, address and date of birth and I’ll happily send you a handmade card to celebrate your special day.

Happy Crafting,

Oh Happy Day Kit!

It is a rare novelty that I get to sit and just craft “for fun”… however that is how I spent my raging Saturday night this week! LOL!

Unfortunately this week, Baby INK was unwell which meant I couldn’t go to work so I had an extra day at home to potter, do housework, catch up on things which in turn allowed me to have some free time on the weekend. With no stamp clubs or classes for a few weeks, I took the opportunity to do some crafting just for fun. I had no ideas or themes in mind, so instead I grabbed the Stampin’ Up! Oh Happy Day Kit, that I have had for AGES! and proceeded to create the cards. What I love most about the kits is that everything you need to create 20, yes 20 cards is in the kit, besides a little bit of adhesive! In the Oh Happy Day Kit, you receive the following:

  • 20 card bases
  • 20 kraft envelopes
  • 13 piece photopolymer stamp set
  • die-cut glittered chipboard shapes (these was gorgeous!)
  • embossed sheets
  • printed die-cut images
  • die-cut gold foil sheet
  • die-cut white sheets
  • Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Spot
  • coloured doilies
  • baker’s twine
  • glittered dots (I want more of these!)
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals and;
  • an acrylic stamp block.

HOW AMAZING IS THAT!! Plus, you also receive a full set of instructions to create the cards or you can go your own way and make the cards however you like! For the ease of my crafting last night, I followed the instructions 99% of the time to create the cards. I switched a few sentiments up here and there but the designs of the cards are as per the instructions.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit so much I couldn’t wait to show you all the cards I made!

How awesome is that! So many different cards for so many different occasions. The stamps that came with the kit are so versatile, I don’t think I’ll be getting rid of them in a hurry!

There are many benefits to the Stampin’ Up! card kits; they’re great as a gift to your crafty friend, the perfect product to start with for a beginner (old or young!), if you love to craft but feel you’re time poor, kits have everything prepared so you can hit the ground running and create 20 cards in a few hours to keep your stash stocked for the months ahead… or the one I love the best, split the cost of a kit with your friend and spend a day crafting the kit together!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed seeing the Oh Happy Day Kit as much as I enjoyed making it!

What Will You Stamp? #109 – Balloon Adventures

Hello! Hi There! Bonjour!

Welcome back to What Will You Stamp? for this week. This week we’re having some adventures with one of my favourite things… Balloons!!! Yes, that’s right, we’re focusing on the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Balloon Adventures for WWYS#109.

The more time I spend creating for the Design Team, the more I’m finding out that I love interactive cards and today’s card is no exception! I think it might be my inner child that loves how an interactive card can but a smile on the recipient’s face.

As I said above, I love balloons, particularly polka dot and striped ones and they happen to feature in today’s card!

What? There aren’t any balloons on my card… I know! But you know how I told you my card was interactive… open it up and POP! There they are!

Apologies for my hand being in the photo! Baby INK was having a field day trying to eat my card and envelope so I needed quick access to move them when he was about to strike! LOL!

The balloons in the card go perfectly with the Party Animal suite which is fun, bright coloured birthday Designer Series Paper available in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue. The Emerald Envy, Pacific Point and Crushed Curry colours are a great combination for a card for that special male in your life, big or small!

Thanks for stopping by again. I hope you’re enjoying my DT projects as much as I’m enjoying making them! They’re certainly keeping me on my toes and making me think outside the square when it comes to my projects.

Remember, if you’ve got the Balloon Adventures stamp set in your collection, come an play along with this week’s challenge! To keep up to date with our weekly challenges, be sure to “like” the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog Facebook page. Over at WWYS, we’d love to see what you create.

What Will You Stamp? #106 – Delicate Details

Hello! Welcome to my first official post as a Design Team member over at What Will You Stamp? I’m super excited to be a part of the team and look forward to sharing my creations with you for the WWYS challenges.

This week’s challenge over at What Will You Stamp? is using the Delicate Details stamp set (#WWYS106) that you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-bration, which ends on the 31st March 2017.

I’ve seen lots of creations using this stamp set since it was released and I initially set out to do something bright and colourful but as you’ll see, my card didn’t end up that way at all. It amazes my how the creative process works and sometimes what you create is so far from what you thought you were going to create.

My card today features the Delicate Details stamp set combined with the gorgeous Brushwork Alphabet stamp set. It is a stunning font to use on your projects! As you can see, my card is far from bright and colourful. HA!

The colours I used in my card today are Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Gold, lots and lots of gold!!! I heat embossed the lace border and the sentiment using gold embossing powder. Gold embossing powder is just stunning. I added a few gold sequins from the sequin trim roll to fill in some of the white space and add some extra texture and dimension to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Don’t forget to pop on over to the What Will You Stamp? Blog and check out the other creations for this challenge… and if you’ve got the Delicate Details stamp set, why don’t you join in our challenge? Would love to see what you create!

Happy Crafting,

WWYS #103 – Moon Baby

I am so excited (more than normal) to write this blog post. As the winner of the WWYS #100 challenge, I get to be a guest designer for this week’s What Will You Stamp Challenge #103 (#WWYS103) using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Moon Baby stamp set. This stamp set is just so so so cute don’t you think?

When I found out Moon Baby was the selected stamp set for my time as the WWYS Guest Designer, I instantly had an idea for a card. I was a bit daunted by the colouring aspect of the stamps, however the new Stampin’ Up! Watercolour pencils make it soooooooooooo easy (and quick!) to colour in the stamps.

I used the layered circle framelits to cut the circle in the card front and then adhered the moon using some baker’s twine and snail tape.

The babies in this set are just the cutest. Look how sweet this one is resting on the moon… I believe she is dreaming sweet dreams and about all the wonderful things that happened in her day. She just looks so calm and peaceful. Holding on so tight to that star makes me believe she is wishing upon a star.

I stamped the “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star…” sentiment for the front of the card and then on the inside I stamped the sentiment “do you know how loved you are”?

I used the melon mambo watercolour pencil for the jumpsuit, daffodil delight for the moon and star and then a light coverage of calypso coral for the skin and hair.

I love an interactive card and once I started creating with this stamp set, I didn’t want to stop! So, I made another card! This time I used the Sliding Star Framelit Dies to make my card interactive and have the baby “fall” down my card like he was in a shower of stars.

My colouring on the stars was not precise at all. I simply drew a little yellow circle in the middle of each star using the Daffodil Delight watercolour pencil and then using an aqua painter, circled over the colour dot so the colour spread. I wanted the stars to look subtle and have an “aura” about them.

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to join the very talented team over at What Will You Stamp? Be sure to pop on over and check out their creations for this challenge; all their cards are adorable.

Happy Crafting,

Ombre Balloons

Yes, my love of ombre balloons continues but this time instead of stamping, I’ve punched!

Birthdays were the theme of my stamp clubs and class in January and nothing says birthdays better than balloons (well maybe cake!). After two quite technical based cards for my stamp club, I figured the ladies would need a simple but effective card to end the session and that is how today’s card was born. What I love best about this card is that it can be done in any colour scheme as long as you have 3 colours of similar tones. I loved it so much, I made it in two different colour schemes!

To create this card at home:

  • Cut a piece of A4 coloured cardstock at 21cm x 14.5cm, score and fold in half
  • Cut a piece of A4 whisper white cardstock at 10cm x 14cm
  • Using the Stampin’ Up! balloon punch, choose the smaller ballon and punch out 3 balloons of each of the colours you have chosen.
  • Add a small white curve to each of your balloons to give them bit of oomph
  • Stamp your chosen sentiment at the bottom of your card – I stamped mine twice using the “Let’s Celebrate” stamp from the new Birthday Adventures stamp set. You might choose to stamp your sentiment once in the middle (whatever tickles your fancy).
  • Wrap the baker’s twine around the whisper white card base and adhere to the back so that it doesn’t come undone. You can add a bow to the front if you wish.
  • Arrange your balloons on the front of the card and then adhere – you can use snail adhesive if you’d like them to be flat, or pop a stampin’ dimensional behind them to make them raised on your card front.
  • Once your balloons are adhered to the whisper white cardstock, place some adhesive on the back of the whisper white and then adhere to your coloured card base.
  • EASY DONE!

This is a quick card to complete when you’re in a hurry or if you’re looking to increase the number of birthday cards in your stash, then this one is perfect for that too!

Happy Crafting,
