Happiest of Days Gift Pack

Today’s project was something I made for a gorgeous friend of mine to say “thank you”. I have lots of friends who don’t stamp or craft, but still very much appreciate what I do, so to say thank you for a gift she gave me, I made her a little gift too using the Happiest of Day stamp sets.

I love the simplicity of this card. I stamped the rose on shimmery white cardstock and then coloured with my stamp pads and an aqua painter. Once it was dry, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some additional shimmer to the rose petals. I loved this design so much, I made 2 other versions of the card.

Apologies for the not so great photography; I took the photos at 5am in the morning on my rush out the door to work!

Again, the simple image stamped in Basic Black with a smidgen of watercoloring, makes these cards clean, crisp and simple, yet pretty.

To ensure my cards had the real “gift” feel,  I used one of the new acetate card boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue to package them up. Since my cards were “note card size” there is a little extra room in the box. It fits a standard size (14.5cm x 10.5cm card) and matching envelope.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today!

What Will You Stamp? #106 – Delicate Details

Hello! Welcome to my first official post as a Design Team member over at What Will You Stamp? I’m super excited to be a part of the team and look forward to sharing my creations with you for the WWYS challenges.

This week’s challenge over at What Will You Stamp? is using the Delicate Details stamp set (#WWYS106) that you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-bration, which ends on the 31st March 2017.

I’ve seen lots of creations using this stamp set since it was released and I initially set out to do something bright and colourful but as you’ll see, my card didn’t end up that way at all. It amazes my how the creative process works and sometimes what you create is so far from what you thought you were going to create.

My card today features the Delicate Details stamp set combined with the gorgeous Brushwork Alphabet stamp set. It is a stunning font to use on your projects! As you can see, my card is far from bright and colourful. HA!

The colours I used in my card today are Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Gold, lots and lots of gold!!! I heat embossed the lace border and the sentiment using gold embossing powder. Gold embossing powder is just stunning. I added a few gold sequins from the sequin trim roll to fill in some of the white space and add some extra texture and dimension to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Don’t forget to pop on over to the What Will You Stamp? Blog and check out the other creations for this challenge… and if you’ve got the Delicate Details stamp set, why don’t you join in our challenge? Would love to see what you create!

Happy Crafting,

Colour INKspiration Challenge #002

Welcome back! I hope you’re having a great day whatever you are doing! I’ve been playing along with more challenges and today’s card is no exception! The team at Colour INKspiration have their second challenge under way (#CI002) and it is certainly different to their first one where I created this card. The last card was nice and bright which is right up my alley, where as today’s is a lot more subtle with colours I wouldn’t normally grab in the first instance. The challenge is inspired by this picture:

Succulents are hugely popular right now so the Stampin’ Up! colours they inspire are Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Garden Green. I find Garden Green so hard to use unless it is Christmas so today I opted to include that as my card base and then use the 4 other colours to create the details of my card.

I absolutely love the individual colour family Designer Series Paper Stacks and used the Mint Macaron polka dot page from the 2015-2017 In Colour stack as my background. Tick – another colour used!

Since doing all these challenges, I think I have finally settled on “my style” and am comfortable with the cards I create. We all doubt our own cards and compare ourselves to other’s, but really it is not necessary. Everyone has their own style, everyone has their own designs, everyone has their own likes and dislikes, everyone likes different things about different cards. It is the joy and luck we have of being in this awesome creative world together. So next time you make a card and doubt yourself or your work, I want you to STOP! STOP! STOP! Instead of saying your card isn’t “good enough”… look at your card and say “I created that and I am awesome”! Because your card, yes your card, will make someone else happy….
