Santa’s Suit (a piece of magic is a hat)…

Sometimes you just make a card that you (a) LOVE! and that (b) sticks with you forever and that is what today’s card is based on. I made a similar card many moons ago (before I was blogging actually) and I have never forgotten. It is simple, yet so effective and even more important… so FUN to make.

I’m a sucker for a Santa stamp… not a traditional old-style Santa, but a fun, modern, cute on and that is what you’ll get when you use the new Santa’s Suit stamp set with matching framelits. Today’s card was so fun to make and anyone can make it. There is no “right” way to create this card, you just stamp, stamp, stamp until your cardstock is full! And then stamp, stamp, stamp some more for your two-step stamping technique to fill the hats in. I stamped the hats in Basic Black, then Real Red and if I didn’t happen to stamp so accurately, I used my Real Red marked (featured below) to touch up my images. Easy Peasy!

I used the Santa Suit stamps and Santa Builder framelits to “build” my Santa on the tag. I love how you can give him a little dimension by “building” him. I made sure he wasn’t too white and coloured his face in with the Calypso Coral watercolour pencil and an aqua painter. Just takes the edge of the stark white.

I see this stamp set getting a very big workout from me this Christmas. I’ve got another card to share with you next week… so stay tuned.

Happy Crafting,
