Stained Glass Technique

Before I spend the next few weeks bombarding you with Christmas projects, I thought I’d share a card I made recently to experiment with the Stained Glass technique. I used this technique by Susan Lacroix as inspiration and I cased my card based on a gorgeous card on the internet (which I can’t now find to give credit to!!)

It was great to get my Stampin’ Up! Many Marvellous Markers out, which I don’t do enough! For this card I used Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive for the leaves and Melon Mambo and Blushing Bridge for the petals. The flower is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. It was the perfect flower to stamp for this technique.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’m enjoying being back blogging, so I hope you’re enjoying my projects!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Crafting,

Happiest of Days Gift Pack

Today’s project was something I made for a gorgeous friend of mine to say “thank you”. I have lots of friends who don’t stamp or craft, but still very much appreciate what I do, so to say thank you for a gift she gave me, I made her a little gift too using the Happiest of Day stamp sets.

I love the simplicity of this card. I stamped the rose on shimmery white cardstock and then coloured with my stamp pads and an aqua painter. Once it was dry, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some additional shimmer to the rose petals. I loved this design so much, I made 2 other versions of the card.

Apologies for the not so great photography; I took the photos at 5am in the morning on my rush out the door to work!

Again, the simple image stamped in Basic Black with a smidgen of watercoloring, makes these cards clean, crisp and simple, yet pretty.

To ensure my cards had the real “gift” feel,  I used one of the new acetate card boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue to package them up. Since my cards were “note card size” there is a little extra room in the box. It fits a standard size (14.5cm x 10.5cm card) and matching envelope.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my projects today!
